studio lighting



The lighting in the picture on the left is probably lit from the right because of the shadow it creates. I think that creating a shadow adds a more dramatic feel that makes one assume that there is a bigger story than what is portrayed in the picture. The photo on the right is lit by an overhead light. This causes the picture to have a more hopeful feeling, especially with the black background. The light is more evenly spread across the person or figure.

I plan on using christmas light and more raw lighting to bring a sense of light and happiness to the dark, black background. My models will wear all white. Their outfits and the lighting will work together to create pictures that tell stories. The black background will represent the world or one's environment and the raw lighting and white dresses will represent how one reacts to their environment, even in rough or "dark" times.
