Portrait

This photo is by Ravinder Crone. I think this work is successful because of the posing of the woman in it as well as its simplicity. The woman is faced sideways, with her head turned, which gives it a sense that she is hiding something due to the fact that she is not facing head-on. Her expression and hands too make her seem very elegant, which fits in well with her wardrobe. The way she looks at the camera makes it seem as if she has finally achieved something that she has worked for, but she is so serene that it makes her seem passive as well. The photo, however, is simple enough to make her seem even more elegant. For my project I am thinking that I want to show people currently in their natural environments and what they aspire to be in the studio.
