Lighting and How it Applies to my Concept
The 1st picture is shot at an upward angle, this is effective for scary looking photos and any type of dark idea. The facial expression shows no emotion for a scary and eerie affect. This would apply to my photos because having a mental diseases can feel like your trapped inside your self and you head is controlling you, i think the way this is shot can really portray that feeling. Or, I could use this for the feeling of recovery and coming out of that dark place in your mind, but sometimes still slipping back in because the darkness is still inside you, you're just fighting to see the light.
The 2nd picture is really uncertain, and this may be used to show some artificialness. The lighting is clearly that lightbulb and that is artificial and so is the "helping hand" that probably isn't very helping because of the uncertain, and artificial vibe that it gives. I could apply this to my concept because sometimes when you take medicine for a disorder you can get hooked on it if you increase your dosage. Once you go back to your normal dosage it does'nt work as well, so this is kinda like medicine that may say "take me to feel better" but its only immediate and not long term so in the end its a choice you have to make if your going to take that pill or not.
