I chose this image by Jon Edwards in 2005 called tying off. I chose this because the way the old man looks in the photo, hard working no matter what, really caught my eye. This image is not saturated, but I feel the image looks stronger being unsaturated compared to being saturated. I feel the photographer succeeded with the aspect of shallow depth of field. The photographer was also very successful with showing texture and lines. This image seems very calming and is very structural in principles of design. The old man, to me, represents that an older community or society can stay strong and sturdy.
