Elements of Design

          In the above photo, I feel that asymmetrical balance is evident. There is asymmetry because of the balance of contrast and tone in the photo. The bottom half of the photo is darker than the top, and the top half of the photo is evenly blurred. This balance makes the photo equally weighted all around. In the image above, I could also see there being repetition in the photograph (from the salt). However, I think that this element of design could have been made more obvious if the photo was taken from a different angle (above the shoulder). To me, asymmetrical balance and repetition are the most obvious principles of design in this photo, even if some changes had to be made to portray these elements.
