Jesse's strongest photo

I chose this photo because, it includes very vibrant colors. This photo could be categorized as emphasis, because the red and somewhat magenta swing stands out in front of the yellow house and yellow strings on the swing. The color in this photo, the red and yellow, could tie together more if the shadows were darker. This picture reminds me of the beginning of spring, because of all there light, pastel, but also bright colors.

My Best Picture.

This is my strongest picture because the amount of soothing colors. There are lots of blues, whites, and greys in this picture which causes the viewer to feel calm and relaxed. There are very few whites in the picture compared to the amount of blues and greys which causes it to feel loosening and inviting. There is a lot of movement happening in this picture because of the cars in the mirror are moving and the bridge in the background is closely approaching which causes the viewer's eyes to move around the picture. Also, the clouds in the background and in the mirror also add more feelings of movement. The greys make the picture feel softer and might cause the viewer to feel comfortable.

Looking at this picture, the purple pops out at me so when I look at it I feel poppy. The vibrant purple of the berries makes me feel exited, gittery. The green and brown of plants and dirt in the background make me feel calm (down to earth). The purple that stands out really brings out the light shining on the berries. When I look at the green leaves, the shadows stick out very well and make me feel cool, or a mini chill as I look at them. The big green leaves that also stand out, when I look at the lines on the I feel very precise. If I were to see curved lines i would feel more loss and free.

Rachael Laskey strongest photo

I feel that this is my strongest photo because the contrast between the yellow and the blue in the water. This picture makes me feel happy because of the bright colors of the flower against the dark shadows. I love how this photo shows unity from the reflection of the trees on the water. I also like the strong emphasis with the bright colors of the flower. This photo makes me feel calm because of the smooth water.

This picture has very strong colors. The focus is on the yellow which is a bright warm color. The blues in the sky and the greens in the bushes, cold colors, in the background also stand out. There is a balance and harmony between the colors in the background and foreground because they are all vibrant colors. The picture also creates a feeling of happiness because even though it is only a picture of a fence, people associate the color yellow with a nice, sunny day. The blue in the sky tells you that it is a nice day which also creates a feeling of happiness. This picture also has symmetrical balance.

PofD Colors

I think that this is my strongest photo because of the harmony between all of the objects. It also mixes a sense of cool tones and warm tones. It gives a sense of warmth with the focus being on the bright, warm sunset, but also gives a calmer, cooler sense in the water and the sky because of the blues. The way that the focus is on the bright hues and the blues make up the background increases the depth of the photo and enhances the feeling of completeness and serenity. I believe that this photo is pleasing to the eye because the brain associates warm hues with the sun and cooler colors with the water and the sky, which is exactly what this photo does. The contrast between the warm and cool colors is what leads this photo to give off a sense of calmness and relaxation, and, in the case of the bridge and the trees that are dark in comparison to the bright sunset, breaks up the sky and the water in a clear, but not disrupting way. I think that the way the colors work in my photo make it my strongest.

Color Photo

I believe this is my strongest photo of color. The first thing my eyes avert to is the bright, blood orange color of the wall. This neon color arouses and stimulates my senses, almost awakening me. While the orange makes me aware, the deep navy blue of the chairs make me feel sleepy and calm. These two colors contrast from each other and create a vibrant photo which gains attention. The clashing colors give me mixed feelings on how I should feel about this photo. Mainly, this photo is giving me energetic vibes.

Time With God

emphasis.psd

I chose this image because I like how it symbolizes the trust you can have with god. It symbolizes this because it shows the warm feeling you get when you look at this image. In this image I really tried to emphasize the cross. I also liked how it had the blue sky kinda of make it look like in my understanding it meant any day with god was a good day. The image reminds me of my past a little bit. It is mainly the sky that makes me feel that way. It reminds me of windy days of when I played football when I was young. I really enjoyed this blog assignment and I am ready for the next one.

Garden

I feel that this is my most successful photo with color because of the unity it creates. The repetition of the bush and shape of the leaves create a flowing feel to the photo. This aspect is also contributed to by the vibrant green color of the photo. The different shades of green blend together giving the scene in the photo a sense of completeness. I see this photo as a call to rebirth. The path of the bush leads down to the water. Water and blue color can symbolize cleansing and baptism. This gives the photo a tranquil tone. This is why this photo is my most successful.

Strongest image

I feel that this is my strongest photo. This photo is at an angle that shows a lot of repetition. The way the wood is set up on the dock and the waves are both repetition. The color scheme makes this picture kind of mysterious because the colors that are actually in the picture, are very dull. The board walk to me looks like somewhere to go to just get your mind off of things. Around the boardwalk there are a different mix of blues. The sky is a lighter blue and the water is darker. There aren't a lot of colors and its a little plain but just the angle of the photo is spot on to me.

I think this is my strongest photo because the emphasis of the cactus draws attention straight to the green color of the cactus. It was said that green is a low arousal hue but with the brightness of the image, to me it appears to be a happy color. Green also is a tranquil color which is peaceful. When I look at this image I feel peaceful. To me, the color green stands out as a peaceful. It also said that green is often associated with plant life which I like to think as lively. If the picture is green and yellow it looks lively to me which is a little ironic because like I said before I think this picture looks peaceful but at the same time lively.

I feel that this one of my most successful photo color wise. The glossy red of the Camaro and the vibrant green of the trees compliments each other really well. Also the freshly paved blue-ish grey road also runs smoothly with the car. Also the simplicity of the three parts, just a road, a car, and the trees, with no other distraction, debris gives off a feel of completion

I think this is my strongest photo. The reason i think this is my strongest photo is because it gives me a sense of tranquility, the blues and greens help support this idea. The brown limbs with texture help show imperfection really stand out. I think all of the colors work we'll together and the blues and greens flow together. In all the photo just works well with all of its not to bright yet not to dark colors.
I think that this is my strongest picture with color. This picture represents variety because you are going from color to color, like the green, red and yellow. The article states yellow is an arousing color. In this picture I think that the yellow of the bars bring up a feeling of happiness.  The article also says that the color green is a low arousing color. The green grass under the yellow bars represent something calm and put together, along with that the trees in the background also represent something serene and calm. The small parts of red in the background are also supposed to bring up different feelings.

Colors in Photos

The colors in this picture make me feel very good and warm. The black surrounding the bottle give the image a dark surrounded feeling. The darkness creates a cold uneasy feeling, almost scary. The bottle of gatorade shines out with a warm orange glow. This gives the viewer comfort and lessens the scary feeling. The contrast in this makes the bottle stand out like a bright light in the distance. This gives a hopeful feeling in the photo.

Color Photo

I say this is my strongest photo because it has a wide variety of colors with the blue, pink, black, brown, green, and tans. The vibrant blue background gives a strong calming feeling right off the bat. Then the pink ribbons pull your eye to center up against the bay horse and gives you a sense of completeness and harmony in the photo. As well as the white saddle pad up against the horse and well as the clouds adds a sense of serenity when looking at the image and pulls your eye all around the image. The little patch of green grass behind the image lets the color changes be smooth throughout the image. Then adding a sense of calmness in the photo.

Color

I think that this is my strongest picture for many reasons. All of the colors work well together in many ways. The gold, yellow, and white of my dog all flow together to give him a good color. The colors of the dog contrast his eyes and his nose, and really make them stand out in a good way. The carpet really outlines him and makes him stand out. On the contrary the carpet and my dog flow together and make the picture better as a whole. These colors emotionally make me feel joy, even though the brown is a sort of dull color, the gold stands out more and makes me feel happy.

Feeling Blue

When I see this photo I feel sad. Not upset, not unsettled, but genuinely sad. The darker but natural lighting gives a feeling of perfect imperfection. The neutral tones dull down the feelings to near numbness. Then, the streaks of light give hope. The light illuminates the girl's face to see her pain, where the viewer is reminded that life is full of suffering. The rhythm of the light reminds me of a depressed melody in a song. The neutral tones remind me of a life with no color, the life being sucked out of something. This is a very sad photo.

pofd strongest image overview

I believe that this image of the sun setting is my strongest image. I believe that this is my strongest image because it shows the natural beauty of the world, if we could take time to appreciate it. I really enjoy the way that the colors produce rhythm by all blending together to create this soothing harmony and feeling of completeness and simplicity. The reflection of it on the river just makes it even better by continuing the color scheme. I think that an element of this photo that throws it off a little bit is the industrial building towards the left of the image. To me, it says that with all if the natural beauty there is in the world, there is always always work we will have to go back to do and all beautiful and good things must come to an end at some point. So by the building being in the background, it says, soak up the beauty of nature while you can because it won't last forever.

I think that this is my strongest picture because of the bland colors. The colors that change and add contrast are very simplistic. At the angle it was taken, you can see the green wood wall that is staring to chip. The fact that the green and grey are mixing make me feel sad. The color tones make this viewer feel a sense of absence or abandonment, almost like something is supposed to be there but it is missing. Since the variety of lines are changing, your eye is moving around a lot and its making the viewer almost uneasy in an eerie way. The brown board walk is a bit calming, it makes the viewer feel grounded, safe, and almost stable. I think it really make the photos colors work when you add the brown, it makes the picture a little more happy and a little more collected. The buoy that is just off centered and white and blue are a bit awkward. It feels like a memory was made with the buoy, like maybe it was off an old boat and someone tied it there to remember. Even the little black patches in the sand add to the eerie affect of the picture.

Design color photo

I think that this was my best picture regarding color because the colors are different, but they tie in really well with each other. On the right side of the diagonal is the reflection of a lake with clouds in it. The colors on this side , deep blues and grays, give a feeling of the sea and the gray adds a gloomy undertone. This is accurate since when I took this picture it was about to rain and the water is a lake which relates to the sea. On the left side of the diagonal is the sidewalk that surrounds the lake. The white and light gray colors on this side suggest the feelings of simplicity and compromise. The line in the middle of the picture, separating the sidewalk and lake, a gray-beige color, shows the difference and separation between the two mediums and colors. This line of division also makes the two sides of the image appear sharper and more contrasting.

Psychological Response PofD

This photo is my strongest because of the feelings and emotions it evokes out of the viewer. It creates a warm and happy response because of the orange, yellow, and red tones, which are on the warm color scale. Additionally, the repetition and pattern of the flowers makes the photo feel whole and complete compared to if it were just a few flowers. It is also pleasing that some flowers don't have as dark of centers as others, which creates some variety and helps guide the viewer's eyes through the work of art. Because of the color scale, emotion that arises in the viewer may include joyfulness and satisfaction, or it may make them feel hot or like the sun is on them just as it is on the flowers. This happens because of the common connotation of the sun, which is bright and yellow, just as the flowers are.
If this photo were to include cool scale colors, such as blue or purple, in addition to these flowers, the viewer might've felt conflicted about their emotions. Comparatively, if all the flowers were cool scale colors, the photo could've felt calm or even sad and gloomy. Because of the fact that the three colors featured in this work are the only ones utilized, it creates a sure sense of emotion and a pretty solid reaction widespread.

Design color photo

I think this photo is my strongest. The orange of the candle contrasts the dark black background. The darker colors of this whole image a depressing feel. The image as whole is depressing but it is also relaxing. The contrast in the image is between a warm color, the orange, and a dark color, the black background. The contrast also brings your attention directly to the candle. This is also the principle of emphasis. The photo also has a really dark feeling to it. The darkness make you feel tired and depressed.

How does color affect you????????

I think color affects many aspects of your mind in thinking, but it also strongly effects the physical aspects of everyone's lives. Our surroundings in our many environments affects the way we see color in many ways. It affects how we see it and the intensity of the colors depending on the lighting. The way the color appears can also sometimes, not much, depend on where the colors are put. The color can effect the way you think about the picture or drawing as well.

PofD Color Photo

I personally feel that this photo was my best color wise. After reading about a color's effects on a photo, I learned that color choice is actually very important in order for an image to be successful. Although the color red generally causes a rise in blood pressure and the color blue generally calms the mind, I feel that putting the two in the same picture creates a nice balance in color. I also like this photo because red, orange, and yellow are all warm and high-arosal colors, so they create a sense of unity. In addition to this, the yellow and red on the side make the color orange (in the center) when blended together, and I think this creates the feeling of unity, as well. When I look at this photo, I feel calm and united. Overall, I believe that this image has nice color composition and that it is appealing to the eye. The color combination does not give the viewer trouble differentiating the colors. Instead, it creates the feeling of unity for them.

How does Color Affect Us?

Color can affect us in many ways. As it says in the article, colors affect what we wear and how we wear it. Colors can also affect the someones point of view by choosing the right color scheme. If someone walks in a garden, they might notice the colors of flowers. Usually, the gardener will place the flowers in a specific order to make the flowers stand out and beautiful. Certain colors can make a person feel a certain way, it can make them feel react in certain actions. Certain colors are better than others in some people's opinion. If a person is happy and fun, there color choices wouldn't be black, but maybe lighter colors. They can also be based upon how the person feels and his or hers emotions. As well as making a person feel good, you can also put colors together to make cool designs, backgrounds, and cool wall papers.

Colors

The photo I chose from the project was emphasis. In my photo, there is color fatiguing because in the words "poor" and "money" are outlined in black which helps emphasize and makes it easier to read the words. The other colors behind the quote helps create contrast because of the white underneath the words. The blues and greens gives a sense of coolness to the photo, while the red and pinks give a sense of warmth. The black spray paint near the white also gives it emphasis because of the way its placed and white and black are opposites. Because the other words around poor and money are in black your eye is automatically drawn to "poor" and "money". That is important because those are probably the two most important words in the sentence and convey the main idea of the quote.

The photo I chose from the Principal of Design Project was the concept of emphasis. After reading the essay, I believe my photo has a contrast of warm and cool colors. I also feel like it provides a warm and cool concept to the viewer. The photo offers an eye illusion because of the two different colors. When you look at the picture the amount of lighting offers a sense of warmth. But once you see what is actually in the picture it has more of cool affect to the eye. The green shows a more relaxing and calm scenery. The brown and the green complement each other and produce a vibrating electric affect. There isn't any fatiguing or use of the stain glass effect on my image but because the two colors aren't the same temprature you wouldn't need to do that and the image colors don't merge together and cause a blur to the eye.
i think this is my strongest image. the image has reds and yellows with a contrasting white.  the warm colors excite you and the movement and rhythm of the shapes you. the image reminds me of parties simply because of the fluorescent lights and neon flashes. this photo also reminds me of restless nights in the city, tossing and turning around being blinded by fluorescent lights.

Photo Review

The picture above varies in its coloration a lot. The bright blue of the sky gives a happy feeling. The darker, more faded coloring of the building gives off a slightly creepy feeling. The coloration of the trees in the background does not give off as much emotion, as it is more in the background. The sharp outlining of the buildings reduces the blurring between the buildings and the sky, making the image a lot crisper. The buildings are originally much more red, but the fading done to them gives off a kind of ominous effect. The symmetry of the image gives off a positive feeling, mainly because most people like it when things fit well together.

response to color article

I thought that this article is great for a photo class because it can help people understand how to influence how the people who look at your photos feel. because depending on the diferent color schemes you use the person who sees the photo will feel differently. like if it is dark colors or a dark blue they may feel sad or cold. when you use warm colors like peach they will feel warm and happy. this helps a photo student because you can edit a photo to be warmer or cooler based on how you think the photo should feel.also you can change the contrast of photo which is said to give a vibrating or pulsing feeling.also you can put similar colors in photos and it can make the photo feel good to the reader.

Colors in Photography

The picture above has large amounts o differing color in it. There are reds, browns, greens, grays, and creams. The red of the bricks surrounded by green leaves from hedges and miniature trees stands out. The variety of the worn out bricks and the red bricks creates a good variety in the image. The dull gray pops out of the cream wall. The cream of the house has a warm, cozy feeling to it. The green hedges seems to want to bring us in to the house via a cool pathway.

Photo review

I picked this photo beacuase I love the texture used with the diamonds on the skull to the right. Meg Van Cleve also showed unity comparing two non living objects. I really loved the rustic side to the photo with an object that is very skiny and catches your eye. She also used alot of emphasis on this photo. Your eye goes straight to the dimond covered skull. I would like to have seen more of the full image and the heads of the sculls not to have been cut off by the photo.

Friday, September 18, 2015

This photo is a good example of emphasis. This is emphasis because the background is all black and the single flower is a bright, vibrant yellow that stands out majorly with the darker background compared to the flower. The viewers eyes go right to the big yellow flower that takes up most of the image. The photographer could have made the flower centered and zoomed out a little to make it symmetry. It would be symmetry because you could cut the image in half and it would look the same on either side. The photographer could have even taken the photo from above the flower to make it radial, with the pedals in circles all the way to the middle.

This picture represents unity because all the pictures and tables in the background. If I could change anything about this picture it would be that I would take the picture straight on and not from the side. The photographer also made this photo black and white which I think looks good. This picture also represents asymmetry because if you cut the picture in half it is different of both sides. What could have been done to make the elements of the picture more evident is show more of the background and it could have been proportion or repetition.

Photo Critique

This photo uses a couple of the principles of design. Most obvious is the use of movement. The right rays reflecting off the water draw your eye around the picture. This is also emphasis because the light shines very definitely off the dark water.

Photo Critique

The photo I am critiquing for this assignment is of Shannon Driscoll shot anonymously by the photographer. I feel this picture is very proportionate because it is shot straight on and all of the objects are to scale. I feel that this photo also has unity. I believe this picture has unity because all of the colors correspond with each other and it makes this picture flow very well in my eyes. Lastly I feel this picture has balance. The principle of balance slightly appears in this picture to me because everything is to scale, it has unity, and it is shot straight on from the middle with no sort of angle.

Picture review

I chose to review this photo because I really like how David used repetition. I think the photo looks really nice because how clean the lines look horizontally and the perfect spacing between them. I also like how some of the windows have the lights on while others don't. My eye is drawn to the window that is all white through the window, which I like because it is different than all the rest of the windows. While I don't know if it was intentional or not, I think it looks cool because the windows on row 2, 3, and 4 in the middle shows proportion.

Photo Review

This picture uses emphasis on the girl picking flowers. She stands out from the greens and yellows of the flowers and the trees behind her. There is also repetition in this photo with the flowers and their different sizes. This photo is centered and has good lighting. The person taking this photo could have cropped out the house in the background becuase that can be distracting.

Photo Review

I chose this photo because it shows emphasis on the leaves. The green really stands out against the darker white and the black. I also like how the leaves give a pop of color to the photo. This photo also shows variety. The three different colors and textures work really well together. I would have made the leaves a little lighter to add more emphasis on them. I would have also made more of the wall black to further emphasize the leaves. This photo also shows repetition because of the color, shape, and patter of the leaves.

judging this photo

I chose this picture to criticize because I thought it was very interesting. The first thing that I noticed about this photo was how you could not see the girl's face in the picture. Immediately, I thought that was a flaw but I realized that maybe the photographer is trying to have a bigger meaning by concealing the face. I see a lot of movement in this picture with all the bubbles and ripples, and I also see emphasis towards the girl. The photo may seem a little too dark to me, but I understand that the darkness of the photo may match it's theme. The only thing I would change in the picture is to include the half missing arm into the shot. The second thing I noticed about this photo was the words "happy" on the girl's shirt. It seems very ironic to me because the photo is quite gloomy. Happy isn't a great match with the mood of this photo. I really like how the photographer probably did this on purpose to make questions pop up in the viewers mind. I believe this photo represents how some people hide their sadness with a "happy" face when they feel like they are drowning in their own sorrow. That is what I depict of this photo.

Old Guy Laughing POD

This photo portrays movement, proportion and unity. It is very simple but yet has a lot going on. The color of the photo being black and white creates a sense of balance and unity. The photo has great proportion because it is centered and has an equal shadow on both sides which shows it was taken at a straight on angle. The lighting of the color is great and I love the angles of the photo.

photographic review

I really like the setting that this takes place looks to be in the type of restaurant.I also really like the texture of both his jacket and also his skin displays his class and his age.The way this image is shot in  black and white displays the true virtue and class. How that his face dominates the picture.May be the image could have more contrast to show the difference between each individual personality . I really like the contrast between the other people and his face standout.Creates almost a presence about the man in this setting.

36 windows, 36 different stories!

I chose this image because It looks very interesting. You think its just a building but each window has something going on inside of it. It definitely represents a pattern throughout the image. I also like that you can see a reflection on the windows. This is definitely a nice assignment choise and I would not mind doing it again.

Photo Review

I like this picture taken by David Podvia because you get to look into many different peoples lives. This picture is an example of repetition. The similar windows create unity, yet each window is different. I like how this picture is not uncentered and was taken at a distance where you could see all of the windows, while still having a clear view of the windows. I also like how there is no focus on one window, but all of them.
The picture I am critiquing was taken by Cristina Acevedo. The image is of a young adult with paint all over her face. I really like this picture because I feel it has a lot of concept and value. I also think it makes the viewer think to find a deeper meaning. The picture is dark and I'm sure it makes almost all of it's viewers feel some type of sympathy, sorrow or pain for the young woman in the picture. I like how this picture was taken in black and white because it dramatizes everything the woman in the picture may be feeling. I also like the paint on the woman's face because it could mean a handful of things, one being don't hid who you are or how you feel. I also notice that the picture is asymmetrical. I wouldn't change anything about the photo because I like everything about it and all of the thought it brings to the viewer.

Critique

The photo I am critiquing was taken by David Podvia. This photo is an image of windows in what looks like an apartment building. The angle of the photo is horizontal, it isn't crooked at all. He uses the principle design, pattern. All of the windows are the same length and height. The windows on the top, of the picture, are all cut off at the top equal to the amount cut off from the windows at the bottom of the picture. Some windows show light inside, which gives you a better look at the events going on inside the windows. But, the windows that are dark are interesting, because i feel that it shows how some people hide their lives.

The picture of the girl with her legs in the bath tub reminds me of sadness. Like she slept in the bathtub. The contrast is really nice and I like the way her legs are positioned. I think her skirt should've been shorter or longer to match the standard the heels present. The photo is very balanced and proportioned well. Their is unity between the tub and the legs I feel. This picture makes me want to lay around and be sad.

Munerlyn photo

This photo shows many different types of design including asymmetry, proportion, and unity. When one first looks at this photo it looks symmetric, or balanced on both sides. If you divide the photo in half vertically, it does not line up exactly even if it looks like it. For proportion the egg, the chicken, and the sign are all somewhat proportionate to each other. They are both about the same size and the shape. Sadly, there is unity in this photo, an egg is a baby chicken being incubated, and fried chicken is a chicken grown up. So the fried chicken sadly, could be the eggs mom and it all intertwines.

This picture represents movement the most in elements of design. As I look at this picture my eyes focus on the bubbles on the surface of the water and then my focus moves to the girl in the water. On another note, I think that the picture should have had a little more light exposure and contrast. Proportion should also have been included in this picture by adding the rest of the girl's body. It is bothersome that half of her arm is cut off. I also think that there could have been more emphasis by having the girl wear a different outfit or something more interesting that says something about the girl. Even though it is interesting that the girl has a shirt that appears to say happy, drowning or sinking at the bottom of a pool seems to be something that is not happy.

Lillie's Lit Review!!!!

I see elements of unity. The rings on light on the bottom of the pool circle around the girl to bring focus to her. The rings are also repetition, for the repetition of shape and color. The picture has a very dark feeling, but I felt at peace and in harmony when I saw this photo. I see variety also between the girl and the bubble. I would have added radial symmetry around the girl because I feel like the picture could use something more. There is also emphasis on the girl.

Art Gallery Critique

This picture reminds me of a personal space bubble from elementary school because the circle the person is standing in is drawn with chalk. The picture would have been better if the pavement was darker and if the circle was centered. I think that the main principle of design in this picture is movement because your eyes move around the picture, observing the simplicity of the circle and complexity of the pavement. The picture might have been better if the circle was one color and not a mixture. I also think that the shoes should have been a different color than the pavement.

criticism

i like how in his picture he has has shallow depth which means that photo is focused on the area closest to him but blurs out the area farther away. also i like how the rain drops are very focussed and easy to see. but i do think that he could have a better surface for the raindrops to be on. also i feel like there isn't enough happening in the photo and it doesn't really grab your attention when you look at it.

Criticism of Peter Hoyt

To start off, he's not centered! If he was centered, this would make the picture slightly better. I don't get why the photographer has him posed in front of a wall with the grossness on the bottom of the wall. Also, the lines from the square design on the wall continue to the bottom on one side but stops on the other side. I like Peter Hoyt, but the picture is just okay. The photographer had a cool idea, but the picture didn't portray it.
Looking at Sophia's slide show I would say is is a very abstract person. I would also say she likes cars and spending time on her boat with her family. Two of her pictures have her little brother and one other has an antique car. The rest are in locations like the St. Johns River. I would say Sophia has a bubbly and loving personality. She also dames like she can be dark at times, I assume this because of the pictures with the rain droplets. All of Sophia's images instantly describe her life and make you think deeper about her personality.

element of design

This picture shows the element of design repetition by the placement of the goldfish. This picture also spotlights a few spots on the black background and some spots in the background are darker which shows the spotlight element of design.  I also like this picture because it makes me hungry.

Elements of Design

In the above photo, I feel that asymmetrical balance is evident. There is asymmetry because of the balance of contrast and tone in the photo. The bottom half of the photo is darker than the top, and the top half of the photo is evenly blurred. This balance makes the photo equally weighted all around. In the image above, I could also see there being repetition in the photograph (from the salt). However, I think that this element of design could have been made more obvious if the photo was taken from a different angle (above the shoulder). To me, asymmetrical balance and repetition are the most obvious principles of design in this photo, even if some changes had to be made to portray these elements.
